Today (Feb. 28) through March 2, the tiny town is hosting their 6th Annual Leap Year Birthday Party to celebrate Leap Year Babies, people born on February 29 who can only celebrate their birthdays once every four years.
This bash includes wine tasting, a parade, and a giant birthday cake, and is expected to draw as many as 500 guests from all over the country, including a woman celebrating her 104th or 26th birthday.
Spokesperson Sylvia Alvidrez says that despite peoples actual age, the birthday party provides a built-in excuse to party like age is just a number.
Last year, a woman pretended she was celebrating her Quinceanera, and this year, the savvy senior has an even better party plan.
Alvidrez says, Shell be pretending its her 21st birthday, but you look at her and shes 60-something. Its great.
