Modern Lemonade Stands Still Make Big Bucks

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Running a lemonade stand is still a surefire way for kids to score some sweet cash.

That’s the tart truth from Ellen Warwick, co-author of Centsibility: The Planet Girl Guide To Money (Kids Can Press), a book that teaches tweens how to earn, save, and spend cash.

While the book offers modern ideas for making big bucks like tutoring, walking dogs, plant-sitting, and designing web pages, Warwick says a good, old-fashioned lemonade stand is still a smart and popular business venture for kids.

Warwick says lemonade stands are lucrative kiddie businesses because they’re almost guaranteed to turn a profit from guilty adults.

She explains, “Lemonade stands may seem a bit outdated but they’re great. They turn up lots of charitable donations from adults who pass by. Adults remember their own lemonade stands as kids and feel bad not giving a child a little donation. It’s an old business, but it works!”

Warwick suggests young entrepreneurs put a modern-day twist on the lemonade stand biz by offering different fancy flavors of lemonade, and setting up shop at busy places like sporting events or schools.
