Senator Tackles Health-Care Crisis

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former Senator Tom Daschle needs more than just the media to solve the health- care crisis.

Senator Daschle is the author of Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis (Thomas Dunne Books), which outlines the former Senate Majority Leader’s health-care reform plan, including the creation of a Federal Health Board and changes to long-term care and Medicaid.

With health-care a hot-button issue in the current White House race, Senator Daschle says it’s going to take more than just a movie to get to the root of the problem.

In reference to Michael Moore’s health-care documentary Sicko, Senator Daschle says, “The movie had a significant impact, but it was out of sight, out of mind once it left the theaters. We need constant reminders to appreciate the magnitude of this crisis.”

Senator Daschle says both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are capable of implementing his plan, but says to fully solve the problem it’s going to take bi-partisan support.

And Senator Daschle is doing some behind-the-scenes snooping, admitting, “I just got a physical, and the doctor and I spent a long time talking.”

Critical hits shelves Tuesday (Feb. 19).
