National Pie Day Makes Life Sweeter

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Pies are great for dessert, but they’re even better for making memories.

Tomorrow (Jan. 23) is National Pie Day, a day commemorating the delectable dessert and the memories made while making, eating, and sharing pie.

American Pie Council spokesperson Linda Hoskins says people take pies for granted, and thinks people should take advantage of the special day to share a sweet slice of love with others.

Says Hoskins: “Pies aren’t just dessert. They’re a way of life! No one can think of a bad memory with pie. In fact, even a bad pie can bring back good memories!”

And if your baking skills aren’t up to par, Hoskins says it’s okay to buy a pie from a store, just steer clear from funky flavors and stick to the classics.

She says, “Apple pies are really traditional, but pumpkin pies are tied with family memories around the holidays.”
