Top Words And Phrases Of 2007 Are ‘OK’

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The top words and phrases of this past year are all ‘OK.’

The Global Language Monitor, a California-based company that analyzes the latest trends in word usage around the world, has just announced the top words, phrases, and names for 2007, and the most understood word on the planet is the word “OK.”

Other well-known words that made the list include...

  • Hybrid, which represents all things green and environmentally conscious, from biodiesel, to clothes made of soy, to global warming.

  • Surge, referring to the controversial political and military strategy in the ongoing war in Iraq.

  • Climate Change, the warming of the Earth’s atmosphere due to natural cycles.

  • Al Gore, the politician who’s been spreading news of the “planetary peril” Earth may face if people don’t begin caring for the environment.

  • Bluetooth, the latest technology to connect electronic devices by radio waves.

  • Cleavage, which has become a touchy campaign subject since presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton showed hers off by wearing a V-neck shirt during a televised speech.

  • Smirting, the newfound art of flirting while being banished outside a building for smoking.

    And finally, the Chinese-English phrase “No Noising,” which is a Chinglish variation of “Quiet Please.”
