Director Wants You To Sleep Through Her Film

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One Tinseltown movie maker’s new film is a real knockout.

Sondra Lowell is the creator of, a monotonous, go-nowhere film designed to put the audience to sleep as quickly as possible.

Lowell believes the film – the first in a genre she calls “Film Sleepy” – provides a relief from the tension and anxiety caused by the loud, action-filled blockbusters dominating Hollywood.

To make her big-screen bore, Lowell told the actors, “Just sit there for a long time, and have a lot of long pauses,” and to ensure a swift sleep, the film opens with a shot of her playing solitaire and another of an empty room, which she says, “gives you a good chance of getting to sleep right away.”

In fact, is so boring that it took Lowell five yawning years to perfect her snoozy movie.

She says, “I’ve slept through it many times, but I wasn’t sure if other people would.”

But she’s not always sleeping in front of the screen.

She says, “I saw The 40 Year Old Virgin. I stayed awake though, it was hard to fall sleep wondering if he was going to lose his virginity.”
