Bathroom Book Has Changed, Bathroom Hasn’t

ASHLAND, Ore. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bathroom business is booming!

That’s the poop scoop from Gordon “Uncle John” Javna, whose latest edition of his book, Uncle John’s Triumphant 20th Anniversary Bathroom Reader (Portable Press), dumps a new batch of quirky facts and toilet trivia – including the birth of the Hawaiian shirt and the death of the phone booth – for people to peruse while on the pot.

As editor-in-chief, Javna has watched his books spawn an industry of fact-finding shows like Mythbusters, and even with the Internet invading his sacred space, the honcho of the head isn’t worried about the can competition.

He says, “Our niche is a place the Internet doesn’t go. Although I imagine many people take their laptops to the bathroom.”

And while his books have changed with the times, Javna says the business of the bathroom will always be booming.

He says, “Some technology has changed, but human biology hasn’t!”

But don’t look for the potty pages in Javna’s own bathroom.

He says, “I spend enough time putting it together, I don’t need it in the bathroom. You think Hemingway had his books in there?”

The 20th Anniversary Bathroom Reader hits toilets today (Nov. 1).
