Jamaican Dogsled Team Mushes Toward Cartoon Career

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The latest project from one active Jamaican adventurer has gone straight to the dogs.

Danny Melville is the CEO of Chukka Caribbean Adventures, and his recent dive into dogsled racing inspired the fascinating film Sun Dogs, which chronicles the surprising story of the Jamaican Dogsled Team.

But his idea for a racing pooch posse didn’t always have a strong push behind it, at least not until one “Margaritaville” man got on board as a sponsor.

Melville says, “All I knew was I had a hell of an idea, and my kids thought I was crazy! When Jimmy Buffett got involved, that stopped everyone from laughing.”

And while Sun Dogs tells the touching story of the competitive canines, Melville believes his laid-back barkers are headed for a serious future – as cartoon classics.

He says, “Our dogs are truly Jamaican – if they’re tired, they just stop! If 101 Dalmatians can be a success, imagine laid-back, little cartoon Bob Marley dogs singing reggae music!”

Sun Dogs comes out on DVD October 2.
