Bill Reisen, a research animologist at the University of California, Davis, says studies show that the bothersome biters target the feet when buzzing around for a meal and the stinkier the feet, the better.
Says Reisen: Mosquitos more often bite around the feet and ankles. They do prefer the smell, but it doesnt mean you have dirty, smelly feet.
Reisen recommends wearing boots and repellant to keep the blood-suckers at bay, but if for whatever reason youre actually hoping to attract mosquitos to your little piggies, keep your socks out of the hamper.
He says, Mosquitoes are very drawn to smelly socks. The longer you wear your socks, the more attracted they are to them. Or you can use Lindberger cheese, which works almost as well as smelly socks.
