World’s Largest “Jackalope” Creates A Kodak Moment

DOUGLAS, Wyo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Folks in Douglas, Wyoming, are setting up their cameras for a mutant mammal photo shoot.

The city, which is the offical birthplace of the “jackalope” – a mythical creature that’s half jack rabbit, half antelope – has just erected a 13-foot state of the famous fictional creature in front of their chamber of commerce office, and the city is snapping with excitement.

Visitors are encouraged to pose with the giant jackalope, and some lucky ’lope lovers will even be able to climb onto the statue’s saddle.

But watch out – while the city is honoring the animal by selling jackalope pins and eggs, they’re also offering jackalope hunting permits!

And although the creature may just be a creative creation that nobody’s ever seen, chamber executive director Helga Bull says there’s more to the supernatural story than the stupendous statue.

Bull says, “People have seen a jackalope, they just don’t know it.”
