Anti-War Band Is Not Anti-Money

SEATTLE, Wash. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One anti-war band is fighting ‘The Man,’ and asking him for a paycheck.

Ozomatli has been playing anti-war rallies for years, but when they got the call to represent America and its government in the Middle and Far East, they jumped at the chance.

Percussionist Jiro Yamaguchi sees nothing wrong with biting the hand that feeds him.

Yamaguchi says that the government had no problem with them being anti-war, and instead saw Ozomatli as a “truly American band that voiced their opinions in a democratic way.”

And with the music industry struggling to fill their own pockets, Yamaguchi is happy to still be able to rock right now – even if it’s on the government’s tab.

He explains, “The music industry is low right now for everyone, and our livelihood is the shows. We’re lucky that we’re even able to play.”
