New Cancer Drug Keeps Locks Intact

WALTHAM, Mass. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Dealing with cancer can be a hairy situation – but you don’t have to lose your locks to it.

Dr. Richard Chin, a cancer researcher, has been working on a cancer-fighting drug called Zybrestat which doesn’t make people lose their hair like chemotherapy does.

Although Dr. Chin and his team are only using it to treat thyroid cancer patients right now, he says soon it will be good to use on all types of cancers.

Says Chin: “It’s quicker than other ones on the market and has no visible side effects like chemotherapy does.”

He continues: “No one’s hair is falling out which is very good. People are excited it [the drug] will help them get better and let them keep their hair.”
