Urban Author’s Novels Teach Kids Consequences

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An urban drama author in New York wants to show kids that life on the streets isn’t as cool as rap songs and music videos say it is.

With some help from rapper 50 Cent, urban author K’wan has just released a hard-hitting book titled Blow (G Unit Books), a fictional story about some streetwise guys that get into hustling drugs and are soon stuck between a kilo and a hard place.

While K’wan reveals the secrets of the hood through his writing, instead of celebrating street life, he hopes to show kids the very real and tough consequences of going down the wrong path.

Says K’wan: “I don’t try to glorify the streets in my books because that’s not positive or real. I’d rather show the ramifications of street life so kids know the truth.”

But although K’wan believes his gangsta novels are accurate depictions of hustlin’ and surviving in the streets, he understands if there are some haters out there.

He explains, “My books are pretty accurate, depending on which side of the pistol you’re on.”
