Disney Channel Dad Passes The Ultimate ‘Cool Test’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Disney Channel actor David DeLuise knew his latest acting gig was cool once he got the seal of approval from his 13-year-old daughter.

DeLuise – the son of legendary comedian Dom DeLuise – will be starring as the father of a wizard family in the upcoming Disney Channel series, Wizards Of Waverly Place, and says he and the show have officially passed the “cool test” with his teen daughter.

DeLuise explains, “My daughter has been reading the scripts for the show with me, coming to the tapings, and telling her friends about it. She thinks it’s a cool gig and laughs a lot during the tapings, so that’s how I know the show and I are officially cool.”

And while DeLuise has gotten the “thumbs up” from his kid, he admits he may be more excited than anyone about the wizard series.

Says DeLuise: “I’m a huge geek when it comes to magic and wizardry. I’m the guy that likes Dungeons And Dragons, Excalibur, and Lord Of The Rings, so it’s really exciting pretending to be an ex-wizard and know magic myself on this show!”

Wizards Of Waverly Place premieres this fall.
