Rocker Chasing Toddlers Not Groupies

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The rock star dream may live forever, but for one musician life on the road is a little different now that he has a wife and kids.

Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham just got back from a European tour with the band and he’s taking a small break before the U.S. leg, which starts Friday (May 11) in Phoenix, Arizona.

Although Cunningham admits “touring is a beautiful thing,” he also points out that it’s “the biggest pain in the ass” because he has to be away from the family for long periods of time.

He says it can get stressful, but it’s something he and his bandmates have learned to adjust to after nearly 20 years together.

Still, with his bandmates’ families joining them on the road, Cunningham says touring and family life “are two different worlds, but there’s no reason why they can’t mix.”

He adds, “With the band and all the crew, my kids have a bunch of uncles on tour.”

He continues: “They get their all-access pass and raise hell.”
