Ultimate Fighter’s Rivalry Heats Up

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Ultimate Fighting Championship is adding fuel to the ultimate rivalry between two fighters-turned-coaches.

Lightweight ultimate fighter Jens Pulver is one of the coaches on Spike TV’s fifth season of UFC, and says his ongoing rivalry with fighter B.J. Penn intensified on the show.

That’s because Pulver’s nemesis Penn is also a coach on UFC 5 and will be facing Pulver in the maincard bout during the season finale in June.

Pulver admits he had “sort of forgotten” about his feud with Penn, but says all the anger came back as soon as they started filming the show.

Says Pulver: “The rivalry between us is so intense I can’t even look at him. I hate him and I can’t wait to punch him in the mouth and kick his a in the ring.”

Although he’s the coach, Pulver says his up- and-coming fighting trainees were helpful in giving him pointers to “Pulverize Penn” and inspired him to train extra hard.

He adds, “I saw how hungry these new guys were and I got my fire back to fight.”

UFC 5 premieres Thursday (Apr. 5).
