Wannabe Soap Stars Get Dramatic On SoapNet Reality Show

BURBANK, CA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Soap operas are dramatic but a reality show competition to become the next great soap star has its own share of drama.

SoapNet’s series I Wanna Be A Soap Star will begin casting its fourth season on March 17 in Miami, in hopes of finding the next big soap star.

The winning actor or actress gets a role on Days Of Our Lives, but while that seems glamorous on the outside, the path to soap success is anything but.

I Wanna Be A Soap Star producer Eric Schotz says the show’s contestants are always “on edge” and dealing with real soap scenarios like making out with co-stars with bad breath, reading a script with really difficult words and crying on command while “still looking hot.”

However, Schotz admits the claws really come out when contestants spend “every waking moment” together during the competition.

Says Schotz: “It turns into a real soap within a soap. Everyone back stabs, lies, and hooks up. It’s actually good practice for whoever wins the soap opera role.”
