Classic Rockers Take Their Couches On The Road

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Classic rockers Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades aren’t ready to perform in rocking chairs, but they are ready for their couches.

The Styx guitarist and Night Ranger bassist worked together in Damn Yankees and also their current project Shaw Blades, which is about to release a new album, Influence.

True to its name, the album features 11 covers of their favorite songs including “California Dreamin’, “For What It’s Worth” and the Yes classic “Your Move,” which is the first single.

The album hits stores Tuesday (Mar. 6) and will be accompanied with an acoustic tour starting March 16.

Blades says the show will be an intimate affair, so intimate that they are bringing couches on tour with them to make it look like a living room.

He adds: “We plan to invite audience members to sit on the sofas during certain songs.”

But while the show will be rocking, Blades jokes that it will be “a combination of VH-1 Storytellers meets The Smothers Brothers. We plan to tell all our Ted Nugent stories.”
