Cheap Vino Is Healthier Than The Good Stuff

TUCSON, Ariz. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re drinking wine to improve your heart, help out your pocketbook at the same time and drink the cheap stuff.

That’s the doctor’s order from cardiologist Tedd Goldfinger who says the more expensive the wine, the more unhealthy it is for your heart.

Says Dr. Goldfinger: “The cheaper wine companies want to turn it out faster so they throw in all the stems and skins and crush it up, whereas the more expensive wines try to filter all that healthy stuff out.”

He says it’s the grape skins that hold all of the nutrients that keep hearts healthy so cheaper red wines are more beneficial overall.

Dr. Goldfinger says he came to this conclusion while researching his book The Wine Lover’s Healthy Weight Loss Plan (McGraw-Hill).
