Being Female Doesn’t Handicap New ‘Wandering Golfer’

BOSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Women golfers can’t drive a ball as far as their male counterparts, but that didn’t handicap golf pro Gia Bocra.

In fact, she has just beaten three males to be declared the new host of The Wandering Golfer, one of the most popular shows on the Fine Living network.

Although Bocra uses golf clubs that are nearly as big as her, she was able to score a hole-in-one with the show’s producers because of her ability to do interviews and her knowledge of the show.

Now, she will get a chance to live every golfer’s dream and putt her way to some of the finest courses in the world.

She says the key to knowing a new course is its putting green. As she puts it, “When you see how the putts roll in, that correlates with how the greens are running.”

Bocra’s victory will be seen during a one-hour special airing January 21 and, a day later, she’ll be flying to Australia to film a series of shows.

While she’s there, she hopes to play a round of golf with Bindi Irwin, the daughter of deceased Crocodile Hunter host Steve Irwin.
