A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Miles

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’ve got video footage from your last vacation, they you might want to listen up.

That’s because from now until January 15, 2007, the folks behind the Lonely Planet travel guide are encouraging travelers to send in a video of their greatest travel moment – even if it took place in their hometown – and the grand prize winner will get a trip around the world.

Lonely Planet spokeswoman Cindy Cohen says it’s not necessarily the most exotic or adventurous journey that will take home the prize but the one that really captures the “travel experience.”

Says Cohen: “Travel is a different experience to everyone. Going around and filming your hometown can be just as powerful as going around the world.”

She encourages participants to show what travel means to them in a creative way that is “under three minutes” and says videos can be shot on cell phones, digital cameras or old fashioned video cameras.
