‘Battlestar Galactica’ Star Mary McDonnell Tries To Separate Fact From Fiction

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One of the stars of Battlestar Galactica says she has to differentiate her character’s ideas about the plot from her own as a viewer.

Mary McDonnell, who plays Laura Joslin on the show, says she has to remember that she can appreciate the show “as a viewer” and “as the character” she plays.

In McDonnell’s words: “I think Laura sees something special going on in [James Callis’ character] Baltar, but as a viewer I can see it, too – I think he’s always seeking redemption.”

McDonnell says that what she loves about the show, however, is that she can appreciate it on the level of her character, and “simply as a viewer, as well.”

The special two-hour premiere of Battlestar Galactica airs Friday (Oct. 6) on the Sci Fi Channel.
