Karen Allen Is Very Content In The Country

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Three years ago, Karen Allen left the unpredictable world of Hollywood to start her own fabric business in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and she hasn’t regretted her decision one bit.

Allen, who is best known for her roles in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Animal House, says she’s been knitting since she was 4 and that it was a “natural transition” to start selling her designs.

She admits she needed to make a career change after her acting career became “less than fascinating” and she didn’t want to be away from her teenage son for long periods of time.

In fact, Allen says she is “much busier now” running her own business and teaching acting and sewing classes at the local liberal arts college then she ever was in New York or Hollywood.

Despite being content in Massachusetts, Allen admits she would jump at the chance to star in the new Indiana Jones sequel.

Says Allen: “One of the rumors going around is that Natalie Portman will play Indy’s daughter. All of Indy’s other lovers were blonde, so it makes sense that I would be the mom.”

Allen currently stars in Poster Boy, which is playing in select cities around the U.S.
