Blind Melon Members Mulling Possible Reunion

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Grunge-lite rock act Blind Melon was enjoying some of their most fruitful days right before lead singer Shannon Hoon died of a drug overdose in October, 1995.

Now, at least one member of the band is mulling a possible reunion.

Guitarist Christopher Thorn and bassist Brad Smith currently make their living producing records in Los Angeles for artists such as Anna Nalick and Cheyenne.

Thorn admits he enjoys it but says “every four years, I get the bug to want to tour.”

He says he would like to get together with Blind Melon but says finding a singer who can replace Hoon is not an easy task. Plus, he adds that he wants to do any reunion for the right reasons.

But, considering how Thorn feels about his bandmates, there doesn’t seem to be a wrong reason to reunite. As he puts it, “I’ve been to the bottom and the top with these guys. They’re my family.”

No word on if the band that sang “No Rain” will reunite but on October 17, the band will release a live album, Live At The Palace, that was recorded ten days before Hoon’s death.
