Surf Beat Revivalists Los Straitjackets GoGo Burlesque With Twist Party Tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Playing surf beat rockabilly like it’s an old-time tent revival, the Nashville-based Los Straitjackets have been keeping fans on their feet and a little off-center for ten years.

Now, the groundbreaking outfit has joined with Mersey Beat worshipper Kaiser George and the burlesque-dance divas World Famous Pontani Sisters to their vaudevillian-like company.

Touring behind Los Straitjackets’ ninth album, Twist Party!!!, ’jackets leader Eddie Angel says the band’s goal is to avoid offering “disposable culture.”

Angel admits that mixing the burlesque revolution’s cutting-edge sensuality in the Pontani Sisters – and the Liverpool-era Britpop of cult hero George, is “just cool to us, like when we started: We thought Mexican surf bands were genius, but not enough people knew about them.”

The Twist Party!!! CD/DVD-combo features “GoGo aerobic” dance lessons led by the Jersey-bred Pontani Sisters, as well, and it hits stores Oct. 3.
