Martin And Lewis Reunion Set For MDA Telethon

BRANSON, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon starts on Sunday (Sept. 3) and one of the highlights will be a Martin and Lewis reunion.

But this won’t be a reunion between host Jerry Lewis and his old partner, Dean Martin, but with Martin’s daughter, Deana.

She’s been singing with Lewis on and off stage since 2002 when she reached out to him while researching material for her memoir, Memories Are Made Of This (Three Rivers Press).

Although she says she didn’t see much of Lewis while growing up, she felt an immediate connection.

As she puts it, “He was so comfortable and giving with me that I didn’t feel I was with my dad’s partner, but that he was MY partner.”

The two have performed on the telethon ever since and, this year, they will do their duet during the 17th hour.

After that, Martin will start work with actor Joe Mantegna to turn her book into a movie.
