Bigfoot Update: Police Chief Confirms South Dakota Sightings

PINE RIDGE, S.D. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Skeptics may have pooh- poohed the recent rash of Bigfoot sightings near Pine Ridge, South Dakota, but the local police chief isn’t one of them.

Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, who runs, says Pine Ridge police chief Jim Twiss has confirmed the recent sightings and even trained the department’s thermal imaging camera on the creature during one encounter.

Sadly for science, Twiss says the camera doesn’t yet have a recorder so the image wasn’t documented, but says the creature was “between 10 to 15 feet and appeared to be wearing a stovepipe hat and long coat.”

Twiss says he watched the creature enter a creek that runs through the town and while he heard “a flurry of dogs barking” the creature escaped the search party.

But the Sasquatch sightings are nothing new to Twiss, who told Coleman they’ve been around since the 1980s and tend to increase every spring and fall.
