Celebrity Nannies Focus Of New Reality Series

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Forget Mary Poppins and her old-fashioned nanny ways – celebrity nannies are now horning in on the child care market.

That’s the word from producers of a new television show, Celebrity Nanny, which begins filming this fall.

The show will follow nannies of well-recognized celebrity families and show the celebrity kid’s escapades and perks that come along with being an A-list babysitter.

Three nannies have been selected so far, all of whom work for well-known actors.

Still, producer Maria Gomez wouldn’t mind finding more nannies, especially if they work for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, or Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

And while Jude Law’s recent affair with his nanny has shed a bad light on the occupation, Gomez doesn’t want to focus on that aspect, and says romances between nannies and their employers are actually quite rare.

In her words, “One bad apple tends to ruin things.”

Gomez is negotiating with various TV networks but, if all goes to plan, Celebrity Nanny will debut sometime in January, 2007.
