World’s Largest Corn Maze Is Amazing

SPRING GROVE, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An Illinois farm is hosting a “corny” event that is sure to leave some people puzzled.

The Richardson Farm in Spring Grove, Illinois, currently boasts what is being billed as the “World’s Largest Corn Maze,” a 12.6-mile designer corn maze, where people can wind their ways through acres of corn.

The maze officially opened this past Saturday (Aug. 5) and salutes the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs baseball teams. One part of the maze is even shaped like a baseball glove.

Event coordinator Carol Richardson says corn-mazing is a tradition in farming towns but figures the size and scope of her farm’s maze should attract an amazing amount of visitors between now and October 31, when the maze officially ends.

Of course, it’s possible to get lost in such a large maze, so Richardson recommends snacking prior to conquering the trails because, as she puts it, “Our corn is sterile and not exactly edible.”
