Mike Wilson is the director of Burning Man: Beyond Black Rock, which is available Tuesday (Aug. 1) as the authorized documentary DVD about the annual gathering of weirdos, wack-jobs, artsy-types and outsiders in the Nevada desert.
He says not even media icon-maker MTV is welcome at the uniquely freewheeling and envelope-pushing happening.
In Wilsons words, Its organizers are so protective of it, theyre the only festival of their kind thats told MTV to take a hike.
And Wilson believes the riots and fires of Woodstock 99 were predictably un-Burning Man-like.
In his words: Thats always the result of people whore ONLY out to make money and could give a sþþþ about anything else.
