Hillary Clinton: The Political Cartoonists Choice For Next Prez

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The presidential election is more than two years away but America’s political cartoonists already have made their decision who they want in higher office: Hillary Clinton.

But it’s not so much for her ideas, as her “draw.”

Political cartoonist Daryl Cagle says he gets more mail regarding the New York senator than any other potential candidate and adds, “People love her or hate her but they’re obsessed with her. So, from a business point-of-view, cartoonists would to see her in office.”

He says that Clinton’s persona as an angry, scorned woman gives artists plenty to work with, especially her “angry eyebrows.”

Cagle says he got the same mileage out of Bill Clinton’s “fat personality.”

In his words, “Bill Clinton in person is as skinny as a rail but he has a fat personality so cartoonists always draw him large.”

But Cagle doesn’t have any problem with George W. Bush.

He says the President is a cartoonist’s dream, which is why many cartoonists were torn in 2004 because, while they might have preferred John Kerry as a candidate, as a cartoon, he “was hard to draw and boring.”

Cagle’s latest collection of political cartoons is titled Best Political Cartoons Of 2006 (Que Publishing).
