Well, its okay to do that at a restaurant in Manhattan Beach, California. In fact, its a big deal.
Thats because the Chakra restaurant features a ceremonial Indonesian wedding bed smack dab in the middle of the restaurant.
The bed is surrounded by curtains and red brocade and up to four people can lounge on it while snacking on dim sum and Asian- style tapas.
Restaurant co-owner Emily Teo-Tjakra says the idea for the bed came from her husband, Horace, and, so far, customers havent tired of the food or been so comfy as to fall asleep or make whoopie on it.
Naturally, theres often a long waiting list; in fact, Brady Bunch star Christopher Knight proposed to his wife, Adrienne Curry, on the bed there.
Although the bed takes up the space of eight ordinary tables, Teo-Tjakra wont consider removing it because its become the restaurants trademark.
