When Traveling In Europe, Don’t Forget The Camera Crew

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re visiting Europe, make sure you don’t forget your luggage, a passport and, oh, a camera crew.

That’s what Travel Channel host Samantha Brown has learned during the two years she’s spent filming her series, Passport To Europe With Samantha Brown.

In her words, “When you have a camera, people are on their best behavior.”

Case in point: When Brown was visiting a coffeehouse in Naples, Italy, without her cameraman, she had to battle through a crowd of people to get to the bar to order an espresso – only to be ignored by the employees.

She did this for three straight days before deciding to film the excruciating experience so that “people would know what to expect.”

However, once she showed up with her crew, the crowd let her pass freely to the bar and the man making the espresso was as sweet as could be.

But having a film crew isn’t always an advantage. She was recently in Copenhagen filming a ceremony about the longest day of the year and spent the longest time trying to get someone willing to be interviewed on camera.

Passport To Europe With Samantha Brown moves to prime time starting Thursday (July 20).
