Eastern State Penitentiary is holding its 12th Annual Bastille Day Celebration and that means a reenactment of the French Revolution staged on prison grounds.
Nearly 5000 people will be dressed up and participating but its hardly historically accurate.
Instead of real cannonballs and bullets, the reenactors pelt each other with Twinkies launched from the 30-foot towers of the prison.
A Marie Antoinette impersonator will be right in the line of fire, and revolutionaries will get a chance to toss their Twinkies at the Queen as she is led up to a makeshift guillotine.
Event director Sean Kelley explains that you have to be ready to rumble at the playful re-enactment, nevertheless.
As he points out, I got hit right in the face one year with a flying Twinkie. From that point on, it was war.
