You Don’t Have To Read Stephen King’s Books To Act In His Films

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Stephen King might be one of the most popular authors of all time but that doesn’t mean he’s on the reading list of actor Jeremy Sisto – even though he stars in a film adaptation of one of the scary scribbler’s short stories.

Sisto plays a recently released convict named Will in The Fifth Quarter, one of eight short features in TNT’s Nightmares And Dreamscapes: From The Stories Of Stephen King miniseries, but he confesses he never picked up a single King novel in his life until he signed onto the show.

Says Sisto: “It’s not that I don’t like big books – I’ve just never cracked open one of his.”

Sisto did end up reading the short story his segment is based on although he admits the script strays a little bit away from King’s novel.

Known most recently for his work on HBO’s Six Feet Under, Sisto’s no bookworm, he does enjoy taking in a King flick every once in a while and lists The Shining as one of his all-time favorites.

Nightmares And Dreamscapes: From The Stories Of Stephen King premieres on TNT July 12.
