‘Lovespring International’ Star Fails As A Matchmaker

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s one thing to play a professional matchmaker on TV but it’s another to set up friends in real life.

That’s what actor Sam Pancake has learned while filming the new comedy, Lovespring International, which debuts June 5 on Lifetime.

Pancake – yes, that’s his real name – plays relationship counselor Burke Kristopher and says he tried to practice what his character preaches by hooking up a crew member with one of his friends.

Sadly, the results were disastrous.

As Pancake puts it, “I was convinced it was going to work but it completely misfired.”

And while Pancake’s character works for a dating service, he doesn’t put much stock in the real-life kind himself because “sometimes people just look better on paper.”

The actor found this out firsthand when someone dared him to place a personal ad in the newspaper several years ago.

Says Pancake: “My voice mail instantly filled up with crazies and scary guys that will have sex with anyone who calls back.”
