Sportscaster Bets On Speed Poker Winning The TV Poker Pot

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Can couch potatoes handle yet one more poker show?

Sportscaster Chris Rose thinks so – and he should know since he’s the lead poker announcer on the Fox Sports Network.

His latest show, MansionPoker.Net Poker Dome Challenge, debuts Sunday (May 28) and will focus on “speed poker,” a variation where players have only 15 seconds to bet, check or fold their hands.

Rose admits he’s new to the game but figures it’s more likely to attract newbies because it’s much faster and more telegenic than traditional poker “where players take minutes to make their decisions.”

The show will be a series of seven-week mini-tournaments and the winner of the first six will then compete for a $1 million purse.

Rose admits the game requires players to adjust their style but viewers will like it because “Americans need immediate gratification and this is like watching an internet game unfold.”
