Thats because its officially International Online Romance Day, a day when single and divorced folks are supposed to go looking for love online.
Online Romance Day creator Lorilyn Bailey says the romantic holiday has been going on since 1998 and says the perception of online dating has made a 180-degree shift.
She says back in the 1990s, a lot of people met their significant other online but were reluctant to admit it. Now, she says theres no stigma.
But there is common sense. Bailey says practically every programmer knows the code for a dating website and, if youre not careful, youll sign up for a site with only four other members.
Also, she suggests assuming everyone you meet online is a felon until proven otherwise.
Bailey also says honesty is the best policy and suggests the guys who think they can attract women with photos of their genitalia post them so the ladies will know which guys to avoid.
