‘American Inventor’ Runner-Up Still Expects A Royalty Flush

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Inventor Joseph Safuto isn’t up for the final prize on the ABC reality show, American Inventor, but he is still expecting a royal flush with his germ-sucking toilet seat filter.

Safuto lost out of the finals because of a guy who had a moving car seat for kids, a device he admits is “a better invention” to his PureFlush toilet seat.

But he isn’t slamming the lid on his invention. Safuto says he’s been swamped with interest from investors since his episode aired this past week.

Still, he isn’t making any decisions about the product for now because ABC has a one-year option on the product.

If the network decides to make Safuto’s product, he will get 25 percent royalties, which he says “is a pretty good rate.”

In the meantime, Safuto is working as “a goodwill ambassador” for ABC and his product by appearing at the INPEX invention trade show, which starts June 7 in Pittsburgh.
