NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Pot smokers around the world will be packing their picket signs along with the pipes and bongs on Saturday (May 6).

That’s when the 7th Annual Global Marijuana March is taking place and weed smokers in as many as 200 cities worldwide will be holding reefer rallies and pot protests to criticize prohibition of the wacky tobacky.

Organizer Dana Beal says, this year, he wants to focus on the research that he says proves the effectiveness of medicinal marijuana – despite the Federal Drug Administration’s recent declaration that there is no proven medical benefit to weed.

As he puts it, “Two thirds of the scientific and medical community are saying, ‘The FDA is full of s.”’

Beal says the biggest pot protests will be in Rome and Toronto but also expects big turnouts in Tel Aviv, Israel, and even Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Also, some protests may be about more than just the right to smoke pot. Beal says there’s a march scheduled in Ninbin, Australia, to protest how Australian policemen who harass stoners.
