Glen Campbell Turns 70 Tomorrow (Apr. 22)

MALIBU, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Glen Campbell is known for singing “Rhinestone Cowboy” but tomorrow (Apr. 22), the big song will be “Happy Birthday.”

Campbell turns 70 and will be celebrating in Malibu with his family. He doesn’t know what’s in store but figures, “My wife’s got something up her sleeve.”

Campbell, however, is more focused on the coming year. Starting May 5, he’ll be performing with Charo in Branson, Missouri, until May 19 and then with Andy Williams until May 28.

Then, later this summer, he’s reuniting with composer Jimmy Webb, the author of Campbell classics like “Wichita Lineman,” and “By The Time I Get To Phoenix.”

Campbell is excited about popping out a pop album but since it will be for Toby Keith’s new record label, he promises it will be more “gutbucket” than previous Webb collaborations.
