Carlos Mencia Believes Comedy Should Be Colorblind

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to comedy, ethnic jokes never go out of style.

That’s the word from politically incorrect comedian Carlos Mencia, host of Comedy Central’s Mind Of Mencia.

He says it’s good for everyone to “celebrate where we came from,” but he believes that in the not-so-distant future, caucasian comedians like Dave Attell, Dane Cook and Larry the Cable Guy will be sharing the stage with Mencia and other minorities.

Mencia says he is blown away by his fan base. He says he has talked to grandmothers who love his show and even Middle Easterners who told him they were there to “listen to [me] crack jokes about them.”

The funny man says the more minorities there are in an audience, the better his show is because, as he puts it, “There is no sense of talking behind anybody’s back.”

The first season of Mind of Mencia comes out on DVD March 21 and the second season debuts on Comedy Central the next day (Mar. 22).
