Portland, Oregon-based author Elise Hamilton says, Were always looking for ourselves in other people, but we look in dogs too.
After crossing paths with so many dog owners who shared the same looks, attitudes and even accessories as their pooches, she says she decided to photograph them for a book called Doppeldoggies (Picture This).
Hamilton says in the beginning, shed tell people how much they looked like their dogs, but notes, I learned early on not to say that.
One man refused to have his photo taken with his scraggly gray-haired doppeldoggy, shouting, Everybody looks like their dog!
Hamilton did catch a girl in all black whose colorful scarf mimicked her Black Labradors collar and a man whose hair, beard and demeanor matched his German Shepherds, among others.
The book also features a woman who not only has a doppeldoggy, she herself is a doppelganger for Sarah Ferguson.
Hamilton says her first thought was, My God, girl. You look like Fergie!
