Judy Reyes Explores Her Bad Side

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Judy Reyes may play an altruistic nurse on Scrubs, but her new movie proves she’s not above playing bad girls.

Reyes says she recently starred in and produced a “teeny tiny independent film” called Glow Ropes: The Rise And Fall of a Bar Mitzvah Emcee, that shows a completely different side of her.

She describes her character Vanessa Dupree as “a bad-ass party planner,” but because she’ll do anything to get ahead in the business, “her morals are questionable.”

Reyes calls the film “a parody on the world of bar mitzvahs,” and says she attended a few to prepare for the role, including a carnival-themed event with about a thousand guests.

Apparently that was nothing compared to one bar mitzvah she read about where 50 Cent performed and the take-home gift bags “would put celebrity goodie bags to shame.”

Glow Ropes – which won the Best Film award at the 2005 HBO New York Latino Film Festival – premieres Jan. 28 in Madison, Wisconsin.
