1:13 P.M. Will Be A Spellbinding Time Today (Jan. 13)

HOOPESTON, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Friday the 13th may be considered an unlucky day but the students at an online university for witches considers it spellbinding – especially at 1:13 p.m.

Ed Hubbard, a spokesman for, says because so many people think Friday the 13th is unlucky, it’s a great day for casting spells because “everyone believes in magic today.”

Hubbard says 2200 witches around the world plan to capitalize on the extra magic in the air by doing a “good luck” ritual at 1:13 p.m. local time – or, as he calls it “13:13.”

The ritual will focus on lighting candles, but he says some witches may also put some crystals in a special “web” that currently includes 300,000 crystals placed in secret places all over the world.

Some people might find the spell – and Friday the 13th fears in general – to be a bunch of hocus pocus but Hubbard says it’s important to be aware of the unlucky day because, in his words, “What people resist, persists.”
