Mile-High Club Celebrates 90th Anniversary

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Talk about an oldie but a goodie: This year marks the 90th anniversary of the so-called “mile-high club.”

You gain membership by having sex during an airplane flight, and the kinky club celebrates its anniversary in November.

Historians say the club got off to a bang in 1916 when a daredevil pilot named Lawrence Sperry crashed his plane while giving flying lessons to a New York socialite. The two were found naked by some duck hunters, but Sperry claimed the crash “divested” them of their clothing.

No one knows exactly how many members are in the Mile-High Club, but one survey by the website Airlines.ws suggests nine percent of the population has gotten down while in the air.

So far, no official celebrations or reunions of the Mile-High Club are planned, but one member – who asked not to be named – predicts “many private celebrations.”
