‘Scrubs’ Creator Likes Actors To Be Loose – But Not Their Pants

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The creator of Scrubs prides himself on giving the actors the freedom to be loose on set – but rest assured, there’s no “pantsing” going on in between scenes.

The show’s creator, Bill Lawrence, admits, “This is the most ridiculously light-hearted and fun set you’ll ever be on...We kind of encourage everybody to be very loose.”

But not so loose as to run around pulling down each other’s pants.

Lawrence says there’s a slim chance of that happening anyway because the wardrobe designer makes specially “tapered, fitted scrubs” for the actors.

And this has started a trend. In Lawrence’s words, “Actual nurses and doctors realized how cute they were and started e-mailing in, ‘How the hell do you get those scrubs?’ Our wardrobe designer now owns an internet scrubs company that sells to nurses and doctors all over the country.”

Scrubs returns to NBC January 3.
