White Sox Catcher Pitches In As Pro Wrestler Manager

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A.J. Pierzynski usually plays catcher for the Chicago White Sox but this week, he’s pitching in as a pro wrestling manager.

Pierzynski recently threw his hat in the ring to manage Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt and White Sox strength and conditioning coach Dale Torborg – a former pro wrestler – for a pay-per- view event airing Sunday (Dec. 11).

Although Pierzynski is a longtime wrestling fan, that didn’t stop him from being amazed at how hard pro wrestlers hit each other.

He found out firsthand when he ended up in the middle of a brawl during a TV taping for the Spike TV show, iMPACT! that will air tomorrow (Dec. 8).

Pierzynski doesn’t have any plans to quit baseball for pro wrestling but he says he learned a lot from the wrestlers, “especially how they handle interviews; the way they make people laugh.”
