Youth Is Wasted On The Young – But Not Dinosaur Jr.

BOSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Youth may be wasted on the young but Dinosaur Jr. isn’t.

The late 1980s punk metal band spent this past summer on a reunion tour to promote the re-release of its first three albums.

Although the band members thought the audience would be comprised of old fans, drummer Emmett Jefferson “Murph” Murphy III says he’s surprised at how young the audiences are.

As he puts it, “80 to 90 percent of the people attending the shows are between 18 and 21 and they tell us they heard about the band in nursery school.”

The reception by the young’uns bodes well for further Dinosaur Jr. shows but “Murph” – as he is called by the fans – isn’t saying anything one way or another.

In his words, “I never forecast too much. I don’t want to jinx it.”
