Hotel Chain Says ‘Merry Mazeltov’ To Chrismukkah Customers

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hanukkah lasts eight days and there are 12 days of Christmas so the Loews Hotel chain is planning on celebrating all of them – with something called “Chrismukkah.”

In case you don’t know, Chrismukkah is a hybrid holiday combining Christmas and Hanukkah that typically takes places the last two weeks of December.

It first came to attention two years ago after being mentioned on The O.C. by character Seth Cohen and has been getting bigger ever since.

This year, Loews Hotels in Miami Beach, New York and Los Angeles will be offering special menu items suitable to both Christians and Jews, such as “Apple Cranberry Latkes with Egg Nog ice cream,” “Egg Nog Pudding in a Chocolate Dreidel” and “Shalom Santagria,” which mixes Manischewitz wine with 7-up, cranberries, and white grape juice.

There will also be Gingerbread cookies shaped like the Star Of David.

Hotel spokeswoman Beth Grant figures the “Merry Mazeltov” menu not only proves that Chrismukkah is mainstream but will allow multicultural families to “savor their favorite holiday foods in new and surprisingly delicious ways.”
